NJ Climate Week (this platform) exists because climate work in New Jersey is everywhere and scattered: a shore walk in Monmouth County, an energy clinic in New Brunswick, a school showcase in Camden, a municipal roundtable in Morristown. Each one builds momentum; together they could build a movement. This site gives them a shared calendar, shared promotion tools, and a partner network.
The idea takes its cue from the framing used by New Jersey's environmental agencies: sharing climate science and practical actions that help residents, businesses, and communities mitigate emissions, adapt to change, and build resilience. We extend that idea into an inclusive, community-run events platform.
NJ Climate Week (this site) is an independent community initiative. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection or the State of New Jersey.
Where official sources are the best source, we link to them directly: the NJDEP climate hub, the Rutgers-based NJ Climate Change Resource Center, Sustainable Jersey, and the state's clean energy programs all appear in our resource library with attribution. We never speak for them.
Every event listing, partner profile, and resource goes through review before publication. Content carries editorial states in a public repository, and non-original claims must cite a source. Placeholder content, used while the first real season is confirmed, is labeled as such wherever it appears.
Sponsors fund programming and accessibility services; they never buy editorial control or endorsement. The rules are published and apply to everyone identically.
The platform itself is open source. The code, content model, brand guidelines, and operating playbooks live in a public GitHub repository, so the community can inspect how it works and help improve it.
