Clean Ocean Action's statewide volunteer beach cleanup, running the same morning at more than 80 sites along the New Jersey shoreline.
Twice a year, Clean Ocean Action's Beach Sweeps put thousands of volunteers on New Jersey's beaches for a single morning of cleanup and data collection. The fall 2026 sweep runs from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, October 24.
The sweep covers more than 80 sites, primarily along the New Jersey shoreline, and volunteers pick their site when they register. Debris is tallied as it is collected, feeding Clean Ocean Action's long-running annual reports on what washes up on the state's beaches.
Registration is required and opens September 1 through Clean Ocean Action's website. Participants sign a liability waiver and photo release before or at check-in. Questions go to BeachSweeps@CleanOceanAction.org.
