NJ Climate Week is an independent community initiative rooted in trust, transparency, and the belief that meaningful change begins with community. We bring together individuals, nonprofits, businesses, schools, governments, artists, faith communities, and neighbors from across New Jersey to connect with one another, celebrate the work already happening, and create new opportunities for collaboration.
By hosting an event, sponsoring, collaborating, volunteering, exhibiting, speaking, or otherwise participating in NJ Climate Week, you agree to uphold these Community Agreements.
Climate Week is a platform for the community, not the center of it. We strive to amplify local organizations, community leaders, volunteers, artists, educators, businesses, and residents who are already creating positive change. Give credit generously. Celebrate others often.
Climate Week brings together people from different backgrounds, lived experiences, professions, beliefs, and political perspectives. We believe sustainability touches every community and every aspect of life. Respectful dialogue, curiosity, and collaboration are encouraged.
When using the NJ Climate Week name, logo, or branding, communications should align with our mission of connecting communities and amplifying climate and sustainability efforts throughout New Jersey. Partners should accurately describe their relationship with NJ Climate Week and should not imply endorsement, leadership, or authority beyond what has been agreed upon.
If you organize an event, sponsor an initiative, or make a commitment to Climate Week, we ask that you communicate openly, follow through whenever possible, and notify organizers promptly if plans change.
Whether hosting an event or participating in one, we strive to create environments that are respectful, accessible, and welcoming to all attendees. Healthy disagreement is part of meaningful collaboration. We discuss ideas respectfully, listen to understand, and avoid personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.
No single organization, business, institution, or individual is the face of NJ Climate Week. Climate Week belongs to the community. We encourage partners to celebrate not only their own work, but also the work of others participating throughout the week.
Success is measured not only by attendance or visibility, but by the relationships built, ideas shared, partnerships formed, and communities strengthened.
Participation in NJ Climate Week is based on mutual trust and shared values.
NJ Climate Week reserves the right to decline, remove, or discontinue partnerships, sponsorships, events, exhibitors, speakers, vendors, or promotional materials that are inconsistent with these Community Agreements or that may undermine the integrity, safety, or community-centered mission of the initiative. Whenever possible, concerns will be addressed through conversation first.
By participating in NJ Climate Week, you acknowledge that you have read these Community Agreements and will make a good-faith effort to uphold them throughout your participation.
